~~ Personal ~~
Descriptive Appearance: She has a fairly average body structure with a small body. She is a purebred American Shorthair calico with shiny and healthy fur from how much she cleans herself, the fish she eats, and the time when she used to be a house cat. She is fairly shorthaired with her hair around her neck shaped unusually. Her tail is shorthaired but long and puffy and incredibly soft on touch. Her ears are medium sized with light green colored eyes. If one were to look closely, they would think they would see a flower shape in her eyes in her iris.
Personality: A she-cat as curious as a young kit, Dappleblossom is one with a heart of gold and happy glow to match. She is a very warm-hearted cat who enjoys nothing more than to be in company with others, though she doesn't mind being alone for a while. She doesn't violence and will refuse to put an end to another cat's life, unless it is for a very serious reason. She considers herself more of a listener than a talker, though the truth is that she can be chatty just as much. If she knows you well enough, she will talk your ear off without mercy until she gets bored. She is a patient she-cat as well, and can be laid-back at times, though it seems more as a facade as she can be worried at times and maybe even paranoid, creating random scenarios that is unlikely to happen. A persistent molly, she can be considered a nosy she-cat who can't seem to keep her whiskers out of another cat's business and will purposely attempt to wedge herself into the issue, no matter how much the cat doesn't want her to. Since she isn't born from RiverClan, it isn't too strange that she has a phobia of the water, even though she knows how to swim. She loves fish, but she doesn't hunt for it because of her instinctive fear. She has never admitted to anyone about it because she will always create an excuse for it, showing how embarrassed she is and cares how others think of her. She is also considered to be prideful as well, as she can get defensive. Nonetheless, she is a kind, happy she-cat who loves her friends. Whenever she meets a new cat, she does get a bit timid and more quiet than she usually is, but warms up to them quickly and becomes her usual chatty self. She can also be surprisingly a brave cat when she wants to. She will jump to a cat's rescue at any costs, even if it means having to face her fears for a second.
Strengths: jumping high, smart,
Weaknesses: aquaphobia, not physically strong

~~ Backstory ~~
Before there was a Dappleblossom in RiverClan, there was an Autumn kitten in a twoleg nest. She was born by purebred show cats and was being brought up to have the same fate as her parents, breeding stock for the next generation of purebreds. She never truly grew too close with her mother because her mother has no longer attempted to be close with her litters. She only gave them what they needed them leaving them alone. If she didn't bond with them, she wouldn't have too much of an issue with them getting taken from her with a few short lived weeks with her kits. Autumn was in her sixth litter. She was brought into the twoleg nest of two doting twolegs who seemed to be mates with each other. They also looked too old to have any twoleg kits. She spent most of her kitten days playing in her nest or outside, often getting messy during the process. As an older kitten, she would catch slow or injured prey like a mouse or bird and present it to her twolegs proudly. However she gets disappointed when all her hard work always gets "rewarded" by being forced to bathr and her present gets thrown out. As she gets older, she starts to tolerate the baths. The older she gets, the space in the nest leaves her dissatisfied and her desire to explore the forest she lives nearby grows with each passing day. She sometimes hears strange noises within the forest while plays in the garden and it frustrates her that she is unable to investigate. Finally, her twolegs accidentally leave a window just open enough that she slips out and makes her way towards the tall trees. Euphoria flowed in every inch of her as she enjoyed the feeling of being so free and the feeling of the wind as she ran. She saw a mouse and somehow was able to kill it despite how clumsily she chased after it. She stared down at her kill and upon realizing her twolegs were not here to prevent her from anything, she took a bite and instantly fell in love with the taste. This was nothing like the food she was given back at the nest! As she happily chewed, she thought of her owners and noticed how dark it was getting. She decided to save some of the mouse for her owners and knew they would get worried so turned to make her way back and her heart sank as she realized she had no idea where her nest was. Autumn stumbled through the dark forest completely lost. As she tried to navigate, heavy rain gushed down on the forest. She didn't mind the rain too much, but she took note of how much mud started to stain her fur. Her feet were getting tired and started to hurt, so she tried to stop and rest underneath a tree. As she rested, a hungry badger saw the small kitten and decided she would make for a quick snack. She noticed the badger a second in time before it's fangs were driven in her frail body and was able to rush away. The predator made a pursuit. The chase led her next to a riverbed, the badger chasing her on her other side, to pin her at the river. Her muddy paws and the slippery caused Autumn to fall into the river when the badger tried to strike again. She frantically tries to stay near the surface and call for help, but her shrieks were being muffled by the rain and river slushing the tiny kitten around. The storm was too loud that it made Autumn's cries practically soundless. As she screamed, water kept spilling into her maw and kept dragging her down and back up until she lost consciousness and nearly drowned. A group of cats were luckily nearby the river and one of them saw the kitten's body. A brown tabby molly acted quickly and brought the body back to camp and left her in the Medicine Cat Den amd waited for to wake up. When Autumn woke up, she found herself in a mystical place with a bunch of cats everywhere of all ages. It was a true shock to see. The same brown tabby that saved her was there to welcome her as soon as she woke up. Some cats come in to chat with the young kitten and asked what clan she lived. Autumn didn't properly understand a lot of the terms they were throwing at her, but was able to tell them that she lived outside the forest with her owners and decided to come into the forest to explore and got lost in the storm and fell in the river while being chased by a badger. They conclude that she is a kittypet. One spots her collar underneath her fur. They wouldn't have guesses because her collar lacked the noisiness most kittypets seemed to possess. Some cats turned from friendly to skeptical and questioned if keeping a kittypet in camp would be smart and the tabby defended Autumn, saying she should stay for a few days to check for any injuries and send her back afterwards. As she spent her days in the medicine cat den, she was able to ask many questions about clan life while witnessing it firsthand. She enjoyed every heartbeat of it. Autumn visited a nursery once and watched all the nurturing queens caring for their kits. This astonished Autumn, her mother never showed much love to her like these cats did. After a quarter of a moon passed, a patrol was made to help show Autumn the way back, however, and felt odd. She wasn't missing her owners like she was days ago. She had realized how much happier she had been within such short time in a clan than she would be as a show cat. She didn't want to be like her mother who was forced to keep herself from forming close bond with her litter because of all of them being sold away from her and having to repeat the process until she was seen no longer fit for it. She felt no shame with being born a kittypet and kept her collar underneath her fur to remind herself of the wonderful memories she shared with her twolegs that she never wants to forget. She was immediately apprenticed and given the name Dapplepaw. Her mentor was the brown tabby, whom she learned her name was Willowblaze. Dapplepaw showed her excellence in hunting. She is decent at combat, but she and Willowblaze agree that she is more suitable as a hunter. No matter what she was practicing, she did it near or in the water. Due to her traumatic night with the storm, she had became an aquaphobe. She had not learned how to swim due to her fear of the water, something deemed vital to a RiverClan warrior. She didn't have to wait long for reaching warrior age and was given the warrior name Dappleblossom. She most of her days simply hunting for the clan. She hasn't needed to use her combat skills on another cat before and hopes she'll never need to. She also tends to pester stranger cats to get a conversation out of them or convince them to go hunting with her. One day, Dappleblossom was attention was drawn to a big, fiery tom with a snappy attitude towards others, including her. He tried to push her away, but she followed him out of camp and here they exchanged their secrets with each other. He held emotions for a taken molly, she had a fear of the river. They agree to keep each other's secrets and they grab prey before returning to camp. They enter camp and Dappleblossom is able to meet the she-cat, who she makes fast friends with. The whole situation remains peaceful until her mate arrives and a fight ensues. Dappleblossom is outraged at his behavior towards him and they argue before Scorchingflame turns and runs out the camp to pursue the she-cat and her mate. Dappleblossom felt out of place in the situation and left it alone, fading back into the background. The era of evil leaders didn't happen start with a bang. It was so slow that no cat saw it until it was already here. She wasn't a supporter of Bucknight, but was too afraid to voice her opinion. As soon as the fighting erupted, she was one of the cats who fled the clans in fear for her life. She was at a lost of what to do. Her clan was overrun by evil. The place that made her happy for so long. Now she was hiding away from it in the forest. She wandered the forest and picked up familiar scents that reawaken old memories. She takes that she is near the Twolegplace. She contemplated whether her old twolegs might still be in their nest like before she left them. She then decided it might be safer and wise to try to return to her kittypet roots and seek out her owners. She entered the Twolegplace. She ran away from stray dogs and hostile kittypets until she saw the nest that sparked her memories. She wished she had been more happy to see it, but she only reacted with an unsatisfied sigh as she approached. She wasn't truly happy with becoming a kittypet again, but she saw no other option. She waited at the door and meowed loudly until she heard a noise approaching. Two twolegs looked down and saw the cat and saw how hungry she looked. Dappleblossom flattened her ears as she looked at the twolegs. She didn't recognize these twolegs, the ones she knew were colorful and pudgy looking, according to her memories. The ones that came to the door were grey, slim, and were wrinkly. And the twolegs pondered upon seeing her calico patterns and wondered if this was the kitten they lost months ago. But they dismissed the possibility as this one seemed too skinny and too feral looking. Nonetheless, they went to gather some food for the hungry she-cat. While she waited, a young pudgy kittypet decided to come out and greet the feral cat. They share a conversation, and the kittypet tells her of life as a house cat. She tells Dappleblossom that she is mostly a per that her owners care for dearly, but sometimes she will be a show cat and has already had a litter. This astounds Dappleblossom because of how young she looks yet she has kits already. From the door, she shows Dappleblossom the writhing kittens calling out for their mother, still too young to open their eyes. Dappleblossom warns her to not to get too attached to her kittens, because most will get sold off in a few short weeks. The kittypet gets slightly offended and questions how she would as she is just a wild cat, making Dappleblossom reveal that she was supposed to grow up a show cat and had a mother who was too afraid to bond with her kits because she knows the fate they all had. Dappleblossom then realizes that trying to become a kittypet again would either mean her surrendering her opportunity of being a mother herself or being forced to watch her kittens being taken away. The twolegs bring a bowl of food to her. She is incredibly hungry. She spent many days wandering in Twolegplace and couldn't find any food. However, she just gave the food a long hard stare before turning back and walking back to the forest. She will never contemplate becoming a kittypet ever again. She lived out in the forest by herself for a while and found a home in an abandoned shelter. She had all she needed, but she felt so lonely. She missed having other cats around her. This made her join a small gang for a while to accommodate that loneliness. She made fast friends with all of them and they all shared their own bits of their life stories while they would sleep days away after hunting together. One day, a gang cat heard rumors of the evil clan leaders falling and the clans are at peace now. Dappleblossom loved her friends, but she desperately wanted to go back to clan life. She wanted to find her friends again. She said her farewells to her gang friends and rushed back to her clan. She was given a pleasant surprise as she discovers the new leader of RiverClan is her friend Russetstar. She is disappointed when she cannot find Shellfeather or Scorchingflame anywhere, so she keeps close with Russetstar as a friend. She hopes to StarClan that Scorchingflame is safe and maybe one day he'll come back. |
