"I know I'm being judged, and anyone who works in the public eye will get some negativity at some point. It can be tough and it hurts. I can be very tough on myself. Occasionally, I hear or read something cruel and I'm shocked."

~~ Thoughts On Others ~~
Name // Relation // Thoughts |
~~ Personal ~~
Descriptive Appearance: Nightfall is a cat who seems larger than life, unusual for a WindClan cat. However, he did indeed come to WindClan as an outsider cat so it explains how enormous and bulky he is. Every physical aspect of Nightfall is intimidating. He is a long-haired smoky tom with lighter grey areas around his front legs and neck to his underside, all hair residing there hanging low on him. His ears are big and long on his head and has hair tufts on the top of it that's a lighter shade. In the daytime, he sticks out. In the night, it is incredibly hard to keep track of him. His paws are huge and his claws unsheathed and fangs are almost as big. His yellow eyes will be the only thing a cat could see in a dark night. Possibly the most intimidating feature is the giant scar that takes up his entire back. It's an old scar but he still winces if one were to press on it firmly. He is obviously too slow with so much weighing him down. He makes it up with his brutish looks. As a young kit and apprentice, he was just as small as the others. It wasn't until he was an older apprentice that his giant size came in and made him as scary as a badger.
Personality: His appearance and supposed sternness causes most smaller cats to be afraid of him, assuming he is a mean, scary tom who has an unquenchable thirst for pain and blood, which is how he got his huge scar on his back, so the rumors and gossips say. In reality, he is a kind, sympathetic tom towards others. He likes to see the good in cats and despises the times he is forced to look at them a different way. He is merciful with his prey as well, never attacking very young prey or it's parents if they are nearby. He doesn't play with his prey when hunting and allows them to suffer. He is an excellent fighter, but does not see the need to kill his opponents unless absolutely necessary. He often feels like an outcast in his clan. Now that he is more grown, he is able to defend himself now. He will defend the weak in any situation, it does not matter what affiliation they are, he shall protect them. He likes cold weather and hates hot weather and badgers
Strengths: stockiness, sturdiness, offensive and defensive
Weaknesses: slowness
Likes: cold weather
Dislikes: hot weather, badgers

~~ Backstory ~~
Pitch lived a simple, but content life with his mother and brother in their little den underneath a tree. The three entrances are narrow but the space in the den is spacious for a mother and her kits. He never saw his father before, but apparently he does move around outside the territory. Their days spent with their mother was enjoyable. The two would get into playful wrestling for hours and would only stop by their mother to be taken to be bathed as the sun goes down. They all wished it could always be this. One unfortunate night at the age of eight, the family wake up to the terrifying sounds of grunting and the sight of big long claws at one of the entrances, trying to dig a bigger hole. Two badgers found the sleeping cats and are trying to get to them. The two toms look around anxiously, unsure what to do until they hear their mother tell them that once she leaps out one of the entrances, they run out the other one and don't look back and promises she'll be following behind them. They do as they are told and run the opposite direction of the badgers. However, they stop and turn around as they hear a pained screech behind them. They are stunned as they see one of the badgers holding their mother's limp body in it's bloodied jaws, her maw still ajar. The other pursues the two remaining cats. Pitch ran the fastest and had a feeling he was outrunning the badger when he turned and saw his brother far behind and so close to it. He turns back, ready to defend his brother, when the brother trips and the badger makes no haste raking its claws into the young tom's body and shakes him about savagely. His body is flung at Pitch's feet and becomes paralyzed seeing his brother's eyes staring up at him blankly and Pitch sees the life in his eyes slowly fade away. He is so fixated on his brother, that he doesn't notice the badger until he feels his skin tear as the predator drives it's claws into his back, knocking him away into a tree at full force, causing him to lose consciousness. He wakes up to the feeling of something rough grazing his back, where badger struck and the coolness of drops of rain on his fur. He stirs and discover it to be a mysterious tom nursing his giant gash. He looks around and calls for his brother and mother. The tom tells him that they are no longer here and that Pitch is the only one he found miraculously alive. He sees his brother's body on the ground. The smokey kit weeps tears of grief, his tears mixing with the rain on the ground and his brother's body. The tom picks him up as carefully as he can and carries him away, promising to bring him someplace safe. Pitch didn't spend too much time with the tom and during this time period, he felt lost. All the two did was travel in the day and find a warm shelter at night. He'd be left so the tom could go out and hunt something for Pitch. He never tried to talk to him much, but if Pitch did ask about something, the tom will always respond to him. A claw moon of traveling, they get to a point of the forest that is treeless and spacious. He asks where they are. The tom says this is one of the clan territories. Pitch recalls the term clan, something his mother said to them talking about a large group of cats living together. He wants to ask why they are in clan territory when they are spotted by a group of cats who say they are in a patrol and demand to know why they are trespassing. The tom nudges Pitch forward and says he found this young cat by himself after his family got massacred by badgers and wanted to give him to one of the clans so he can be safe, showing them the gash on his back as proof. Some cats are hesitant to take in the outsider, but the others take sympathy towards the young tom and the events he had to go through at a young age and convince the others to take them to camp, carrying him in their mouths. As he gets led away, he looks back and watches the tom stand there for a few heartbeats before turning back into the forest. This is the last time he will ever see that tom. He is renamed Nightpaw and given a mentor. The other apprentices weren't too excited over his arrival and either tease him or avoid him. He smelled like foxdung, he was so slow, he won't be better than true WindClan cats. No matter how physical the badgering became, he never retaliated against them. He wasn't extroverted and never made close relations with any cat, increasing the feeling of being alien to the rest of the clan. He wasn't too fast to catch up to a rabbit, but he caught other slower prey. He remember almost killing some prey but noticed smaller ones hiding nearby and let the prey go, the group reminding him of his family. At first he remained average size, but as he grew older, he got really big in size, intimidating over cats in the clan and out. Pretty soon his days of being bullied came to an end, but cats avoided him even more and talked about him behind his back. He passes his assessment and is awarded with the name Nightfall as a new warrior, though he was just as big as a senior warrior. |
